Our community involvement:
November 2017: Our Thanksgiving drive will benefit Latisha's House, a local organization in Williamsburg that helps trafficking survivors! We will be placing a box for donations in the Student Exchange- please donate what you can!!
November 10th, 2017: Our fall speaker event, HEART to Heart drew a great crowd to hear our speaker Jane Kim discuss the horrifying situations of sexual slavery North Korean women face when they escape into China- thank you to everyone who came!
October 24th, 2017: We were so excited to present Food Chains, a documentary about labor trafficking and exploitation in the food industry!
A huge thank you to everyone who came and tie-dyed for our Tie Dye Against Trafficking event on April 9th International Relations Club to help raise money for International Justice Mission and anti-trafficking efforts worldwide!
On March 1st, we were lucky to have helped host an informal discussion, Getting to the HEART of It, with Williamsburg anti-trafficking organization Latisha's House and we talked about trafficking's presence in Williamsburg!
On February 7th, our member Nicole Alanko gave an incredible presentation to the W&M community called Immigration Projections for Survivors of Human Trafficking, where she talked about the intersections of trafficking and international law!
We had an incredible showing at our Valentine's Day Bake Sale this February- raising almost $200 and distributing cookies with attached facts on trafficking to the W&M community!
